Educational Philosophy

Through my student teaching experiences, I have a strong vision of what I would like my classroom to be like.  I believe that each child has the ability to succeed as long as they are given encouragement, the opportunity, and the proper resources. My goal each and every day is to provide each child with a safe, and caring environment.  My classroom will be one in which the students will be free to express their opinions and mature into responsible members of society by giving them the necessary guidance.  I want to give each child my personal best each day, and I am privileged to assist them in their unique journeys.

Above everything else, I strongly believe that reading is the foundation for all learning.  I intend to make reading a part of my every day routines, because I believe reading will foster each child in developing vital skills throughout their life.  It can open up new worlds and enrich children’s lives.  Classroom discussions will be encouraged and I will work with my students to draw connections between the reading and their own experiences.

I will aim to transform the classroom into a rich community that supports one another and supports learning through hands-on activities, learning centers, and positive reinforcement.  Responsibility will be instilled in my students by assigning classroom jobs.  My classroom will be a place in which real life skills are taught and life lesson are learned.  Through all of this, I am confident that my students will leave my classroom with the tools they need to succeed in the world.
